Sandboxed code execution via V8 integer overflow
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Integer overflow in V8 in Google Chrome before 148.0.7778.216 allows remote attackers to run code inside the browser sandbox via crafted HTML. A public V8 regression test exercises parsing of an exceptionally large sequence of JavaScript functions followed by eval expressions; Google has not disclosed the exact overflowing calculation. A user must load attacker-controlled HTML, and the reported code execution remains inside the browser sandbox.
