Memory corruption via discovery authentication update race
Published Oct 28, 2026 · Updated Oct 28, 2026
Double-free in Linux iSCSI discovery configuration allows local users to corrupt kernel memory via concurrent configfs writes. The iscsi_disc_enforce_discovery_auth_store handler replaces AuthMethod without serialization, letting iscsi_update_param_value free the same allocation twice. Triggering requires write access to enforce_discovery_auth through separate configfs opens; the published report demonstrates a double-free, not code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
