CVE-2026-99182

Unspecified impact via audio channel-mask underflow

Published Oct 28, 2026 · Updated Oct 28, 2026

Shift-out-of-bounds in Linux SOF audio topology handling allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via aggregated capture streams. In sound/soc/sof/ipc4-topology.c, dividing fewer channels by more aggregated devices produces zero, and GENMASK(step - 1, 0) underflows its unsigned argument into an invalid shift exponent. The trigger requires this channel/device configuration, such as mono capture across multiple SoundWire links; upstream documents a UBSAN diagnostic but no security consequence or required attacker privileges.
