Sandbox escape via unpolyfilled f16 operations
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Inappropriate implementation in Tint in Google Chrome before 148.0.7778.216 allows remote attackers to escape the sandbox via crafted HTML. Tint leaves f16 abs, negation, length, and distance operations unpolyfilled for a faulty AMD Mesa front-end optimizer instead of rewriting them into safe operations. Exploitation requires a user to open attacker-controlled HTML and reaches beyond the renderer sandbox; the disclosed code path applies to AMD Mesa drivers before 25.3.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
