Kernel crash via unchecked per-CPU register page
Published Oct 28, 2026 · Updated Oct 28, 2026
NULL dereference in Linux 6.19 mshv_vtl allows local users to crash the kernel through a register-page mapping fault. The mshv_vtl_fault() handler trusts a global availability flag and calls get_page() on a selected CPU's NULL register page. Triggering requires access to the driver mapping and mixed register-page setup results across online CPUs; no code-execution capability is established.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
