Kernel crash via stale SCTP stream validation
Published Oct 28, 2026 · Updated Oct 28, 2026
NULL dereference in Linux SCTP allows remote attackers to trigger a kernel oops through stream negotiation during an interleaved send. The send path resumes after socket-lock-dropping waits without revalidating the selected stream and its extension, allowing sctp_outq_tail() to dereference a NULL extension after peer-driven stream removal. Message interleaving and a concurrent send are required; fatal-oops policies turn the fault into a host panic.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
