Crash or false I/O completion via unchecked ITT
Published Oct 28, 2026 · Updated Oct 28, 2026
Task-validation failure in Linux libiscsi allows remote attackers to crash the kernel or falsely complete I/O via crafted Reject PDUs. iscsi_handle_reject() uses the reflected initiator task tag (ITT) to select a pool entry without validating its identity, state, or command type. Exploitation requires control of target responses in an established iSCSI session; an unused entry triggers a null-pointer dereference, while an active read can report success without filling its buffer.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
