Kernel-data disclosure via unchecked SCLP report length
Published Oct 28, 2026 · Updated Oct 28, 2026
Linux s390 PCI reporting allows local users to copy kernel data into SCLP reports via out-of-bounds reads from malformed sysfs writes. In arch/s390/pci/pci_sysfs.c, report_error_write() checks the header size but passes a user-supplied report length exceeding the written payload to sclp_pci_report(). Access requires writing the owner-only report_error attribute, and the privileged SCLP recipient already has access to the affected memory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
