CVE-2026-99118

Unspecified impact via DMC payload size overflow

Published Oct 28, 2026 · Updated Oct 28, 2026

Integer overflow in Linux i915 DMC firmware parsing allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via malformed firmware headers. The parse_dmc_fw_header function multiplies fw_size by four without overflow validation, accepts zero payload sizes and MMIO counts, and records firmware size before allocation succeeds. Exposure requires malformed firmware to reach the driver on DMC-capable hardware; published evidence does not establish attacker privileges or a specific crash, disclosure, or execution consequence.
