Invalid memory access via truncated multicast teardown
Published Oct 28, 2026 · Updated Oct 28, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux bridge multicast handling allows attackers to trigger invalid kernel memory reads during multicast database dumps. In __br_multicast_disable_port_ctx() and br_multicast_del_port(), nested group deletion clears the saved next node's link, ending cleanup early and leaving references to a freed port. Triggering requires a particular multicast group ordering followed by port teardown and a database dump; public evidence does not establish privilege escalation or remote-only exploitation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
