Sandboxed code execution via oversized shader identifiers
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Out-of-bounds memory access in ANGLE in Google Chrome before 148.0.7778.216 allows remote attackers to execute sandboxed code via crafted HTML. ANGLE's shader parser accepted oversized identifiers that conflicted with the translator's name-prefixing and hashing limits, permitting out-of-bounds memory access. Exploitation requires the browser to process a crafted page; the reported code execution remains inside Chrome's sandbox.
