Kernel crash via undrained graphics teardown callbacks
Published Oct 26, 2026 · Updated Oct 26, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux's VC4 driver allows attackers to crash the kernel through callbacks that survive V3D device teardown. The vc4_v3d_unbind() function leaves timers and work pending, allowing callbacks to dereference cleared or freed device state. Exposure requires affected VideoCore hardware and teardown with pending GPU activity; attacker privileges and a reliable trigger are not documented.
