Memory leak via dropped thread-exit refcount updates
Published Oct 23, 2026 · Updated Oct 23, 2026
A refcount leak in Linux rust_binder allows local users to retain kernel nodes by exiting threads with pending refcount updates. Node::cancel() and NodeWrapper::cancel() discard these updates instead of rescheduling them, leaving notification and count states out of sync. The trigger requires access to Rust Binder and a pending increment during BINDER_THREAD_EXIT; nodes remain allocated after external references disappear, without an established crash or code-execution consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
