CVE-2026-99067

Resource leakage via skipped scrub error-path cleanup

Published Oct 23, 2026 · Updated Oct 23, 2026

Reference leakage in Linux Btrfs scrub allows context-dependent attackers to retain filesystem roots via failed path resolution. In scrub_print_warning_inode(), a paths_from_inode() failure skips releasing the root reference acquired by btrfs_get_fs_root(). The path requires Btrfs scrub warning generation and failed inode-path resolution; attacker control and any resulting hang or crash are not documented.
