Use-after-free via IRQ worker publication race
Published Oct 23, 2026 · Updated Oct 23, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux GPIO MPSSE allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via an IRQ setup and USB disconnect race. In gpio_mpsse_irq_enable(), schedule_work() starts polling before the worker enters priv->workers, allowing gpio_mpsse_disconnect() to miss it and gpio_mpsse_poll() to access freed mpsse_priv memory. The affected driver must be active and disconnect must overlap worker setup; required attacker privileges and consequences beyond the invalid memory access are not documented.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
