Runtime-suspend failure via leaked GPIO power reference
Published Oct 23, 2026 · Updated Oct 23, 2026
A reference leak in Linux's Xilinx GPIO driver allows attackers to prevent controller runtime suspension via failed requests. xgpio_request() returns a pm_runtime_get_sync() error without undoing its usage-counter increment, and gpiolib skips xgpio_free() after request failure. The affected controller must encounter that error path, leaving its clock enabled; attacker control over the failure and required privileges are not documented.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
