Renderer code execution via ANGLE use-after-free
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Use-after-free in ANGLE in Google Chrome before 148.0.7778.216 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted HTML. Google has not published which ANGLE object is freed or the lifetime error that leaves a stale reference; the linked Chromium issue remains access-restricted. The attacker must first compromise the renderer process and then induce processing of a crafted HTML page; no sandbox escape is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
