Sandbox escape via Base use-after-free
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Use-after-free in Base in Google Chrome before 148.0.7778.216 on macOS allows remote attackers to escape the sandbox via crafted HTML. Google identifies Base as the affected component, but the restricted Chromium issue does not disclose the freed object's lifetime error or trigger path. A user must open or render attacker-controlled HTML; successful exploitation crosses the browser sandbox boundary, while further host compromise is not established.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
