Memory corruption via SQPOLL task-work lifetime race
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux 6.9 io_uring allows local users to corrupt kernel memory via racing SQPOLL task-work submission. After mpscq_push() publishes a request, io_req_normal_work_add() accesses ring and task contexts that io_ring_exit_work() can already have freed. Triggering requires access to SQPOLL operations and winning the teardown race; the published evidence demonstrates invalid kernel-memory reads and writes, not privilege escalation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
