Denial of service via unbounded scheduler caches
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Memory exhaustion in Linux IPVS allows local users to cause denial of service through unbounded LBLC and LBLCR cache growth. The ip_vs_lblc_new() and ip_vs_lblcr_new() functions allocate entries for new destination addresses without enforcing an admission limit, while collection retains actively used entries. Exploitation requires access to the affected schedulers; unprivileged user and network namespaces provide a demonstrated local path, and exhaustion causes a kernel panic when panic-on-OOM is enabled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
