Memory corruption via repeated OTP device unregistration
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Double-free in Linux MTD OTP setup allows attackers to cause memory corruption when factory OTP registration fails after user OTP setup. In mtd_otp_nvmem_add(), error cleanup unregisters the user OTP NVMEM device without clearing mtd->otp_user_nvmem, so caller cleanup or normal teardown unregisters it again. The path requires MTD OTP support and a factory OTP setup failure; the published report does not establish attacker control or a specific crash outcome.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
