Kernel crash via BPF jump-offset overflow
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Integer overflow in Linux BPF constant blinding allows local users to crash the kernel by running a crafted BPF program. In kernel/bpf/core.c, bpf_jit_blind_insn() adjusts a backward jump in a signed 16-bit offset that wraps, sending execution beyond the program without a bpf_adj_branches() bounds check. The documented crash requires bpf_jit_harden=2, a non-default setting, and access to load and execute the relevant BPF program; privilege escalation is not established.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
