CVE-2026-98807Hinoki check available

Out-of-bounds read via team-port type confusion

Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in Linux mlx5 allows local users to trigger an invalid kernel read through team-device events. The mlx5_handle_changeupper_event() handler passes a smaller team_port structure to bonding-only APIs without checking that the master is a bonding device. Triggering requires an affected mlx5 configuration handling team-device events; the published evidence establishes a KASAN-detected read, not code execution or data disclosure.
