CVE-2026-98786Hinoki check available

Kernel crash via MST teardown NULL dereferences

Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

NULL dereferences in Linux AMD display mode validation allow attackers to crash the kernel during DisplayPort MST disconnects. dm_dp_mst_is_port_support_mode() and get_conv_frl_bw() read dc_sink capabilities without checking whether asynchronous teardown has cleared the pointer. Reachability requires the affected AMD display paths and a disconnect racing connector probing or compositor atomic validation; attacker control over that timing is not established.
