Resource leak via missing firmware teardown cleanup
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Resource leakage in Linux amdgpu GFX6 allows attackers to leave firmware resources allocated via graphics-block teardown. The gfx_v6_0_sw_fini() path omits release of four firmware images requested by gfx_v6_0_init_microcode(). Exposure requires the affected GFX6 driver path; the disclosure establishes retained resources but does not establish attacker privileges, an attacker-controlled trigger, or a resulting service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
