Invalid memory access via deferred enclave file release
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux's Nitro Enclaves driver allows local users to trigger an invalid kernel read through enclave creation. On SLOT_ALLOC failure, ne_create_vm_ioctl() frees ne_enclave before deferred file cleanup invokes ne_enclave_release(), which reads the freed object's slot_uid. Triggering requires access to the driver ioctl and a slot-allocation failure; the reported result is a KASAN memory-safety violation, not demonstrated privilege escalation or a system crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
