Uncanceled work via skipped thread-exit cleanup
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Cleanup failure in Linux 6.18 rust_binder allows local users to leave work uncanceled by exiting during an outgoing transaction. Thread::release() uses get_work_local(false), which skips deferred entries on the thread todo list instead of canceling them. Reaching this path requires Rust Binder access and thread exit during an active outgoing transaction; further security consequences are not documented.
