CVE-2026-98770Public exploitHinoki check available

Memory corruption via undersized MIDI jack arrays

Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

Out-of-bounds writes in Linux USB MIDI 2.0 gadget setup allow local users to corrupt kernel memory through configfs configuration. The jack_ins and jack_outs arrays in struct f_midi2_usb_config reserve MAX_CABLES entries, but descriptor construction adds entries from both input and output paths. Triggering requires permission to configure and bind a MIDI gadget with many jacks; a kernel stack out-of-bounds write is demonstrated, but arbitrary code execution is not established.
