Heap-memory corruption via unchecked USB request index
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in Linux f_uac1_legacy allows physically proximate attackers to read or corrupt heap memory via USB control requests. generic_set_cmd() and generic_get_cmd() use the request's low nibble to index a five-element control array without checking its bounds, accessing up to 44 bytes beyond it. Exposure requires the affected legacy USB audio gadget function to process requests from a malicious connected USB host; the published evidence establishes memory access, not reliable code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
