Freed-memory access via undrained gadget teardown work
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux cdns3 USB gadget driver allows attackers to access freed kernel memory during gadget teardown. The cdns3_gadget_exit() function releases device state without draining pending_status_wq and aligned_buf_wq, leaving their handlers referencing freed objects. Exposure requires the Cadence USB gadget driver and queued work overlapping teardown; attacker privileges and further impact are not established.
