Unspecified impact via uninitialized audio stream type
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Uninitialized memory in Linux's MAX98363 audio driver allows attackers unspecified impact during SoundWire stream configuration. The max98363_sdw_dai_hw_params function passes an incompletely initialized stream_config to sdw_stream_add_slave, and sdw_config_stream copies its indeterminate type into stream->type. The path requires use of the MAX98363 SoundWire driver; upstream does not describe attacker control or establish a crash, disclosure, or privilege gain.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
