Unspecified impact via uninitialized audio stream type
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Uninitialized data in Linux's RT1017 SoundWire driver allows attackers to cause unspecified impact during audio stream setup. The rt1017_sdca_pcm_hw_params() callback passes an uninitialized stream_config.type to sdw_stream_add_slave(), and sdw_config_stream() subsequently copies that value into stream->type. Reachability requires the affected audio driver and its hardware-parameter setup path; public sources do not establish attacker privileges or a crash, disclosure, or code-execution consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
