CVE-2026-98730

Memory corruption via oversized Bluetooth transmit packets

Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

Buffer overflow in Linux's btintel_pcie Bluetooth driver allows local users to overwrite kernel memory via oversized TX packets. btintel_pcie_send_frame() accepts packets that btintel_pcie_prepare_tx() copies into a 4096-byte DMA buffer without reserving space for the four-byte header. Access requires HCI_CHANNEL_USER on an affected Intel PCIe Bluetooth controller; the public record does not establish code execution or a specific crash outcome.
