CVE-2026-98719Hinoki check available

Unspecified impact via repeated CPU-mask free

Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

Double-free in Linux KVM SEV allows local users to cause unspecified impact through failed guest initialization and VM destruction. The __sev_guest_init() error path frees have_run_cpus without clearing its pointer, and sev_vm_destroy() subsequently frees the same mask again. Reachability requires access to host-side KVM SEV initialization and an initialization failure after mask allocation; the published record does not establish a specific security consequence.
