Undefined results via unchecked oversampling logarithm
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Input validation failure in Linux 6.15's AD4030 driver allows local users to trigger undefined results through oversampling writes. The ad4030_set_avg_frame_len() function evaluates ilog2() on the supplied value before rejecting negative input and does not reject zero. Reaching the defect requires an active affected ADC driver and permission to write its oversampling_ratio attribute; the published patch establishes no specific crash, disclosure, or privilege escalation.
