CVE-2026-98677

Memory corruption via ADC unbind use-after-free

Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

Use-after-free in Linux's ad_sigma_delta ADC code allows attackers to corrupt kernel memory during driver unbind. Reverse-order resource cleanup frees samples_buf before interrupt handling stops, allowing ad_sd_trigger_handler() to copy incoming samples into freed memory. The race requires an affected ADC buffering path and a data-ready interrupt during unbind; attacker privileges and exploitability beyond the invalid write are not established.
