Freed-memory access via unprotected debugfs reads
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux adis16400 allows local users to access freed kernel memory through a debugfs read racing device unbind. The adis16400_serial_number_fops handler omits debugfs_file_get(), so device removal does not wait for an ongoing read before freeing iio_dev. Reachability requires an affected device, access to its owner-readable serial_number file, and concurrent unbind; the published patch establishes a lifetime violation, not demonstrated code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
