CVE-2026-98660Hinoki check available

Out-of-bounds reads via oversized sampling-frequency lookup

Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in Linux's BMP280 driver allows local users to read beyond a kernel table via unsupported sampling-frequency writes. bmp280_write_sampling_frequency() treats the flattened integer-element count as the number of two-integer rows, causing the lookup to exceed the table. The path requires an affected sensor using this driver and permission to change its sampling frequency; broader security consequences are not established.
