Invalid memory access via uncanceled trigger work
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux IIO triggers allows attackers to cause invalid kernel memory accesses during trigger teardown. iio_trig_release() frees a trigger without canceling reenable_work queued by iio_trigger_notify_done_atomic(), leaving its worker referencing released memory. Exposure requires pending IRQ-driven work to race with trigger destruction; attacker-controlled reachability and further consequences are not documented.
