Kernel memory corruption via unchecked zone-report index
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
An out-of-bounds write in Linux 6.19 zone revalidation allows attackers to corrupt kernel memory through device zone reports. blk_revalidate_zone_cond() passes an unchecked report index to blk_zone_set_cond(); truncating a zone count above 32 bits also undersizes the zones_cond array. Triggering requires a zoned device reporting more zones than the array holds; privilege escalation and a specific crash outcome are not established.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
