Recovery failure via unchecked firmware-dump append
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Memory leakage in Linux btnxpuart disrupts Bluetooth recovery via firmware-dump processing when device coredumps are disabled. In nxp_process_fw_dump(), hci_devcd_append() rejects a cloned socket buffer without freeing it, and the error path skips nxp_set_ind_reset(). The affected path requires CONFIG_DEV_COREDUMP=n and firmware-dump processing; an attacker-controlled trigger, required privileges, and a system-wide crash are not documented.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
