Memory corruption via stale mesh cancellation pointer
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux Bluetooth mesh management allows local users to access freed kernel memory via transmission cancellation. The send_cancel() function frees mesh_tx while queued mesh_send_sync work retains its pointer, which subsequent work and its completion callback reuse. The path requires CAP_NET_ADMIN and a queued mesh transmission; the published report does not establish code execution or a specific crash.
