CVE-2026-98623Hinoki check available

Out-of-bounds read via invalid power-state list cursor

Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

Nouveau in the Linux kernel allows local users to trigger an out-of-bounds read through the pstate debugfs interface. When a requested power-state ID is absent or the state list is empty, nvkm_clk_ustate_update dereferences the list head as a state object after iteration. Reachability requires Nouveau reclocking support and write access to pstate, normally restricted to root; the published evidence establishes an invalid kernel read, not data disclosure or a demonstrated crash.
