Hang via unchecked device-supplied DMA indices
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Unchecked DMA indices in Linux's btintel_pcie driver allow attackers controlling a PCIe Bluetooth device to hang kernel processing. btintel_pcie_msix_rx_handle() uses frbd_tag without checking its range against the 64-entry buffer array and accepts a cr_hia value that prevents loop termination. Exploitation requires device-controlled DMA writes; the documented consequences are an out-of-bounds pointer dereference and a nonterminating loop, not demonstrated code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
