Data injection via short-frame header misparsing
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Improper length checks in Linux Bluetooth RFCOMM allow attackers to inject header bytes as payload or control commands via short frames. The rfcomm_recv_frame() function accepts an undersized extended-length frame and ignores a failed skb_pull(), leaving header bytes for downstream processing. Exploitation requires delivery to the Bluetooth RFCOMM receive path and a valid frame check sequence; authentication requirements and consequences beyond misparsing are undocumented.
