Stale DMA access via uncleared transmit descriptors
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Stale DMA access in Linux 6.18's SpacemiT driver allows attackers to cause unspecified impact via transmit mapping failure. The emac_tx_mem_map() error path unmaps packet buffers without clearing hardware-owned descriptors, leaving stale addresses available for subsequent DMA access. Exposure requires the K1 Ethernet driver and a fragment mapping failure; attacker control and resulting system effects are not documented.
