CVE-2026-98579Hinoki check available

Kernel memory leak via omitted TLV cleanup

Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

A memory leak in Linux NFC LLCP allows local users to leak kernel memory through failed netlink service-discovery requests. In net/nfc/netlink.c, nfc_genl_llc_sdreq() leaves queued TLV allocations unreleased after nested-attribute parsing, allocation, or send failures. Reaching the affected path requires CAP_NET_ADMIN and an active NFC link; the documented consequence is retained allocations, not disclosure of memory contents or a demonstrated crash.
