CVE-2026-98570Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Kernel memory corruption via insufficient MAC-header headroom

Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026

Out-of-bounds writes in Linux IPv6 tunnels allow remote attackers to corrupt kernel memory through forwarded IPv6 traffic. dst_dev_overhead() reserves insufficient MAC-header headroom, causing skb_mac_header_rebuild() to wrap a negative offset and copy beyond the packet buffer. Exposure requires affected seg6, ioam6, or rpl forwarding paths and an oversized MAC header, such as VLAN ingress with reorder_hdr disabled; code execution is not established.
