Kernel-memory disclosure via short SEG6_ATTR_DST attributes
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Out-of-bounds reading in Linux IPv6 segment routing allows local users to read kernel heap memory via malformed Netlink attributes. The seg6_genl_policy accepts short SEG6_ATTR_DST payloads, but seg6_genl_set_tunsrc() copies 16 bytes regardless of their length and exposes uninitialized bytes through SEG6_CMD_GET_TUNSRC. Access requires CAP_NET_ADMIN through administrative Generic Netlink commands; the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of 16 bytes of kernel heap memory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
