Use-after-free via unsynchronized HID teardown
Published Oct 18, 2026 · Updated Oct 18, 2026
Linux hid-oxp allows attackers to trigger use-after-free during device removal via unsynchronized delayed-work cancellation. The oxp_hid_remove() function cancels three delayed work items without waiting for running callbacks, leaving them accessing the HID device after teardown. Exposure requires the affected driver and removal overlapping a running callback; the inspected upstream material does not establish attacker privileges or a concrete crash, disclosure, or code-execution outcome.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
